MUSLIM COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO RELIEVE CHRISTIAN VOLUNTEERS 12-19-2017

MUSLIM COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO RELIEVE CHRISTIAN VOLUNTEERS 12-19-2017

December 19, 2017

DETROIT, MI: Mercy-USA for Aid and Development has organized a relief team of Muslim volunteers to relieve Christian volunteers the day after Christmas when the soup kitchen at St Peter’s Episcopal Church, (co-sponsored by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church) resumes it’s normal hot meal distribution to 200 homeless and vulnerable people.

“We reached out to the Detroit Muslim community calling for volunteers in service to those who give to the area’s most vulnerable folks all year round at Manna Community Meal. We wanted to give these dedicated volunteers more time with their families around the Christmas holiday,” says Kayla Botelho, Mercy-USA Development Coordinator.

The soup kitchen is located through the red door on the lower level of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 1950 Trumbull Ave, Detroit. Volunteers will be working from 6:00 am to 11:30 am on December 26th. Kayla Botelho is organizing the relief volunteers on behalf of Mercy-USA and can be reached at 734-454-0011.
