Senior Development Coordinator

Position

Reporting to Chief Financial Officer (CFO, the Senior Development Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen relationships with key communities across the United States, elevating awareness of Mercy-USA for Aid and Development, and expanding fundraising opportunities. This role requires proactive engagement with community influencers, the creation of impactful outreach programs, and the execution of strategic fundraising initiatives that align with Mercy-USA’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Community & Donor Engagement

• Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to cultivate relationships with key community leaders and influencers across various regions.
• Organize and lead fundraising initiatives, networking events, and awareness campaigns that enhance Mercy-USA’s presence and donor engagement.
• Identify and engage in high-impact community activities and public events to establish and maintain visibility for the organization.
• Assess opportunities in new regions and identify potential local representatives or part-time contractors, presenting recommendations to the CFO for approval before recruitment.
• Launch and manage innovative fundraising campaigns, ensuring that at least three new communities are actively engaged each year.
• Keep detailed records of community outreach activities, stakeholder interactions, and event outcomes to track engagement and impact.
• Build and oversee a comprehensive database of influential contacts, ensuring continuous collaboration and relationship-building.
• Maintain consistent communication with key partners and community figures, ensuring long-term engagement and support.

Mosque Outreach & Ramadan Fundraising

• Identify and establish partnerships with mosques nationwide to broaden Mercy-USA’s fundraising reach.
• Design and implement a Ramadan fundraising strategy, securing opportunities for donation drives, educational programs, and high-visibility community events.
• Build strong relationships with imams, mosque leadership, and community representatives to facilitate Mercy-USA’s involvement in religious spaces.
• Plan and oversee mosque-centered fundraising events, Friday khutbah sponsorships, and Ramadan iftar initiatives in collaboration with local organizers.
• Track and analyze mosque engagement and fundraising success, adjusting strategies to maximize future outreach efforts.

Additional Requirements

• Travel required as needed to support community engagement and fundraising efforts.
• Must be available to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event and outreach needs.
• Exempt position (not eligible for overtime; compensatory time will be provided).
